THE VIIIth OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES

In June 1955, when an illustrious unknown, Alex Cushing, came to bid Squaw Valley to host the Winter Games, there was only one hotel and one ski lift in this remote valley of Nevada, located at 1900 m above sea level, of which Cushing was the proud owner, as was most of the surrounding land. In just five years, an ultra-modern resort was built and hosted the Games.
