THE IInd OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES

When the Winter Games were instituted, the IOC had hoped that the country that was awarded the organisation of the Summer Games would also have the Winter Games. As the Netherlands could not host these Games, Switzerland came to its rescue by offering to organise these 2nd Winter Games. The final decision was taken at the Congress, which saw the Baron's departure to Prague in 1925.
